Humanities

At Rotherfield, history and geography are taught through year group topics. Each half term a new topic is introduced to each year group, which has a subject focus. For instance history was the focus for topics such as ‘World War 2’, ‘and ‘Ancient Greece’ and geography was the focus for topics such as ‘ Rainforests’, and ‘Forces of Nature’. Often, topics contain elements of both history and geography, as well as other cross curricular links. In this way, the children are able to access a wide variety of learning through a central theme.
