Science

Science week is fast approaching and there are many exciting activities in the pipe line.

Rotherfield has been especially fortunate this year as we are due to receive a very special delivery of seeds in April 2016.  We will be taking part in a nationwide experiment trying to answer this question;

"Can plants grow in space?"

Packs of seeds will have spent 6 months on the ISS and in April will be brought back down.  Rotherfield will receive our special packs of seeds which we will sow, grow and measure to try and answer this question.  Our data will then be used by scientists to make further steps towards answering this very interesting question.

Learning about the SENSES with Scientists from Kings College London

Every child can be a SCIENTIST!

'I'm a scientist because I ask questions.' (Amy)

'I'm a scientist because I like to find out how things work.' (Giovanni)

'I'm a scientist because I ask WHY!' (Dyani)

Science at Rotherfield is taught through fun, exciting, engaging lessons where children have the opportunity to ask questions and investigate scientific facts for themselves.

The new Science curriculum is here at Rotherfield!  What is your child's Science topic each half-term?  Take a look at the school curriculum map below.
